Altaros Turned Slugs
Precision lathe turned projectiles have long been the pinnacle of ammunition, however the difficulties in turning lead always meant airgunners had to settle for swaged or cast slugs. That was, until Altaros developed the technology to CNC turn soft lead slugs. This advancement allows them to produce slugs of precise dimensions, perfect axial symmetry, and high mass consistency. In addition, the freedom from swaging constraints allows the use of rifling bands that reduce friction and improve chambering consistency.
Another advantage of these slugs is their extremely high ballistic coefficients, as high as 0.25 in .25 and 0.21 in .22; these are some slippery slugs.
