Precision Stack Link
Precision Stack Link
Getting precise elevation adjustments out of a tripod is harder than it should be. Tripods are excellent at gross height adjustment but poor at fine-tuning, which means dialing in a perfect shot often ends in frustration. The Precision Stack Link solves this by inserting a continuously variable elevation adjuster between any two Arca or Picatinny interfaces. Mount it between your tripod head and a stock rest, a front bipod and a rail, or anywhere else you need controlled vertical spacing. Rotate the center section to raise or lower with precision; the tripod or bag handles the heavy lifting.
The design includes two tapered thrust bearings so the top clamp rotates freely from the rest of the unit. That means whatever is clamped on top stays oriented while you adjust elevation below, or while the tripod pans. A rifle on a stock rest won't rotate just because the platform beneath it does. The modular top and bottom interfaces accept Arca dovetails or Picatinny rails, and swap in the field. Mix and match configurations to suit whatever you're building.
Key Features:
Dual tapered thrust bearings: Top clamp rotates freely and independently from the adjustment mechanism and bottom interface; rifle orientation is preserved through elevation changes and panning
Continuously variable elevation: 40mm total height adjustment via center section rotation; knurled grip rings on the adjuster and lower collar for secure purchase during rotation
Modular rail interfaces: Bottom unscrews by hand; top swaps with a 3mm hex key and 4 bolts; Arca and Picatinny tops and bottoms available individually for mix-and-match configurations
Hex-actuated clamps: Both Arca dovetail and Picatinny rail clamps tighten with a 3mm hex key (not included)
Carbon fiber reinforced ABS top, bottom, and clamps: Rigid, lightweight, tough interface components; color-selectable center section in standard ABS
Metal-on-metal durability: Brass inserts at threaded interfaces for long-term durability
Specifications: 130g | 65mm collapsed | 105mm extended | 40mm diameter at widest point
The Precision Stack Link pairs naturally with our free Arca rest STL files, which are designed for 3D printing and mount directly to Arca tripod heads. If you're building a window or bench shooting setup around a tripod, that rest and this adjuster cover the elevation control problem end to end.
The Precision Stack Link is modular and user-serviceable. Complete units ship with both top and bottom interfaces installed. Additional tops and bottoms can be purchased individually to expand configurations without buying a complete unit.
One configuration this product was purpose-built for: shooting an airgun or precision rifle out of a window. The front of the gun rests on a bag on the sill. The rear of the stock sits in an Arca-compatible U-shaped rest mounted to a tripod behind you. The tripod gets you in the ballpark for elevation, but fine-tuning your sight line to target with a tripod head is imprecise and fiddly. The Precision Stack Link threads into that gap: mounted between the tripod head and the stock rest, a single rotation of the center section raises or lowers the rear of the gun with repeatable precision. The thrust bearings mean the stock rest stays forward-facing throughout. Our free Arca stock rest STL files (linked above) are designed exactly for this kind of setup and print on any standard FDM printer.
That's one use case. The same logic applies anywhere you need controlled vertical spacing between two rail interfaces: front rests, bench setups, camera rigs, or applications we haven't thought of yet.
