The original Sony ALC-SH158 lens shade uses a mounting mechanism that's fiddly to engage and fragile under impact. This aftermarket replacement is modeled after the original for fit and shading compatibility, but uses a compliant mechanism that's more robust and easier to operate: squeeze the two nubs to flex the shade oval, slide it over the lens boss, release, and it locks. Same method in reverse for removal or storage. Impact-resistant ABS with a super matte finish throughout.
