Integrating Spyderco’s trademark round hole into the fire button of the Autonomy/Autonomy2 was a controversial decision to say the least. We love it, but think it is begging for a little embellishment. Our inserts install into the center of the fire button, no modification required. Each adds a little visual flair, and the glow allows for easy identification and indexing day or night. Centered in each is a slot which can fit a 1.5x6mm tritium vial (Not included due to US regulations). On either side are two convenient manipulation holes to make for easy installation, positioning, and removal.
These are powered using strontium aluminate,* the brightest and longest lasting glow technology. Performance varies dramatically by color, however green is the brightest and longest lasting. Charging is best done with a bright light source. We recommend UV lights (320-400nm), the common 365nm LED lights are great. Sunlight or UV is important to fully charge purple color. Installation is easy thanks to the manipulation holes. Typically these are interference fit, however occasionally minor fitment or a drop of adhesive is required. Removal can be done with a blast of compressed air or twisting using the manipulation holes.
